For suppliers using the platform, OMX is more than just an RFP engine - it is a fully equipped business development tool. At OMX, we've found that our customers that are most successful in gaining new business through the platform are the ones that proactively use the platform to assist their business development teams. For instance, they use OMX to directly message companies that they are interested in working with, join supplier lists, and share documents in addition to responding to opportunities on the RFP engine.
Messaging potential customers in the Marketplace
Within OMX, you have the ability to message companies that you are interested in working with directly from their company profile, the marketplace or your messages tab. Buyers have multiple users behind their profiles on OMX including offset managers, procurement teams and business development managers. You are able to get in contact with the decision makers without having to search for the right people to talk to. Proactively messaging a company lets you get noticed and begins establishing a relationship so that your potential customers will already be aware of your company's capabilities for an upcoming procurement or if they post an opportunity. Joining supplier lists
Through the company profiles on OMX, you are able to show that you are interested in working with a company by joining their supplier list. Joining a company's supplier list puts your company on a short list of companies interested in supplying to that company. From the buyer's side, they are able to view your company profile to find out additional information about your company directly from the list. Document Sharing
In OMX, you can share documents such as marketing materials with companies that you are interested in supplying to. Sharing documents helps your potential customers learn more about what you do, outside of what is already on your company profile. Further, if you are looking to supply to a program with an offset obligation, it helps establish causality for your customer. Learn more about how to share documents in OMX and how document sharing relates to causality here.
*** Tip***
When reaching out to potential customers, make sure that their profile has the flag icon next to the company name. This icon means that there is at least one user behind that company profile to receive your message. Read more here.
